Tawny Owl in the Beech Hollow
A wild tawny owl roosting by day in a tree hollow of an old beech, looking out from shadow in soft overcast light.
Small 480×640, Medium 900×1200
Authentic nature photograph, portrait 3:4. A single wild tawny owl roosts in daylight in a deep hollow of an old beech trunk, photographed from about ten metres at slightly below eye level with a 400mm telephoto lens. Only its upper body shows: rounded head, soft facial disc, dark liquid eyes staring calmly toward the camera, chestnut and grey-brown plumage with fine streaking and accurate anatomy, feathers pressed against the hollow's rim. Smooth grey bark, green moss and a few fallen copper leaves at the trunk base. Soft overcast diffuse daylight, no harsh shadows, deep dark shade inside the hollow, natural muted colours, believable exposure, shallow depth of field, subtle sensor grain. Haunting, quiet, observational documentary feel. No people, no text, no logos, no watermarks.
