Radish with a Long Curl
A squat white radish sits toward the right of a warm ivory landscape, with oversized emerald foliage and a thin root curling left.
Small 640×427, Medium 1200×800
Finished editorial illustration, 3:2 landscape. One white radish lies diagonally across the lower-right portion of a warm ivory background. Exaggerate its proportions: a comically squat, broad bulb, one enormous tilted emerald leaf with two much smaller leaves, and a long thin taproot curling toward the empty left side. Keep the vegetable unmistakable at thumbnail size. Expressive hand-drawn marker contours in bark brown, broad emerald colour fills, and softly rubbed gray-brown shadow masses with sparse granular texture inspired by mezzotint. Tonal texture stays inside a few large shapes, never intricate hatching. Slightly irregular edges, simple leaf shapes, one broad pale highlight, and a small soft grounding shadow. Generous breathing room above and left. No people, text, logos or watermarks.
