Patchwork Cabbage
A wide, asymmetrical cabbage with patterned green leaves grows from a thin band of ochre soil against an indigo background.
Small 640×480, Medium 1200×900
Finished hand-drawn marker editorial illustration, landscape 4:3. One growing cabbage occupies the left two-thirds, rooted in a narrow ochre soil band. Low three-quarter viewpoint, no underground cutaway. Its absurdly broad, asymmetric outer leaves curl outward like soft fabric around a tiny cluster of fresh upright leaves. Build the foliage from five or six large overlapping shapes in lime, sage and forest green. Give selected leaves widely spaced marker stripes or large irregular dots, suggesting patterned cloth without intricate detail. Loose dark contours, broad visible marker strokes, flat colour. Dramatic chiaroscuro: warm cream light catches upper leaf rims while deep indigo shadow shapes separate the folds. Plain indigo background with generous uninterrupted space on the right. Legible at thumbnail size, playful and tactile, not a diagram or icon sheet. No people, text, logos or watermarks.
