Lotus Unfurling
A tall peach lotus bud opens one broad raspberry petal, outlined with charcoal stitch marks against an ivory background.
Small 640×427, Medium 1200×800
Finished hand-drawn marker editorial illustration, 3:2 landscape. A single opening lotus bud in side profile occupies the left third of a warm ivory background. Exaggerate its silhouette: an unusually tall, tapered peach bud above a very short bent sage-green stem, with one enormous raspberry outer petal peeling outward and curling up toward the middle of the frame. Keep the overlapping pointed petals unmistakably lotus-like, using only three large shapes. Textile-inspired construction: broad uneven marker-colour fills bordered by widely spaced, thick basalt-charcoal dashes resembling hand stitches. Flat matte colour, slight marker overlap, no realistic thread rendering or intricate texture. The outward petal gives a buoyant, celebratory gesture while the carefully placed dashes suggest patient craft. Strong thumbnail readability, generous empty space on the right, no extra objects. No people, text, logos or watermarks.
