Books Outside the Hall

Finished editorial illustration, 4:5 portrait, chunky pixel scene built from large square colour blocks and stepped edges, with broad marker-like texture inside the blocks. Outside a neighbourhood sports hall, one comically wide, squat teal weatherproof book-exchange cabinet stands on two tiny feet beside the entrance. Its transparent hinged front is open to the right, revealing two simple shelves of oversized coral, mustard and cream books, some leaning at playful angles. Blank book spines. Three-quarter view from slightly above; cabinet spans the lower-left portion of the frame. A restrained pale peach ribbed facade and one high strip of blue-grey glazing suggest the hall without competing with the books. Simple pavement, one blocky soft shadow, warm afternoon light. Generous empty wall above. Expressive asymmetric proportions, limited palette, thumbnail-readable shapes, no intricate detail. No people, no text, no logos or watermarks.
