The First Unfurling
A split charcoal sunflower seed sprouts a long coral stem and two oversized green leaves, illustrated with broad woven-looking marker strokes.
Small 480×640, Medium 900×1200
Finished hand-drawn marker editorial illustration, portrait 3:4. One germinating sunflower seed rests near the lower-right corner on a warm sand-coloured surface. Its pointed charcoal hull has split open; a short ivory root curls onto the surface. An exaggeratedly long coral shoot bends upward and left, ending in two oversized, partly folded lime-green first leaves, one larger than the other. The whole plant forms one lively asymmetric silhouette, with generous empty ivory space along the right side. Thick irregular marker contours and flat colour fills; a few broad overlapping horizontal and vertical strokes suggest a loose woven textile, not intricate hatching. Soft frontal overcast daylight, one faint grounding shadow. Clearly an emerging plant, not a dry bean. Simple, playful, legible at thumbnail size. No diagram, cutaway, labels, people, text, logos or watermarks.
