The Colour Left Behind
An overhead marker illustration of a rounded bleached coral mound, outlined with loose stitch-like dashes against translucent teal and peach.
Small 640×640, Medium 1200×1200
Finished hand-drawn editorial illustration, square 1:1, viewed directly overhead. One contiguous bleached boulder-coral mound sits toward the lower right, its silhouette squat, nearly circular and asymmetrical, with five oversized bulbous ivory lobes tightly joined together. No elongated branches. Broad irregular marker strokes and widely spaced running-stitch dashes define the outer edge; only a few simple curved seams distinguish the lobes. Keep the coral visibly white and depleted of colour. A single broad translucent teal water wash crosses the warm peach ground around the mound, with slight marker overlap at its edge. Small open-water gaps between the lobes echo the generous empty upper-left area. Flat shapes, restrained palette, expressive handmade wobble, legible at thumbnail size. No intricate coral texture, hatching, diagram elements, people, text, logos or watermarks.
