Eroded Dune Scarp
A wind- and wave-cut dune face with exposed marram roots and a heavy grey sky above a strip of dark sea.
Small 640×427, Medium 1200×800
Authentic documentary landscape photograph, 3:2 landscape. Low viewpoint close to the base of an eroded coastal dune scarp that runs diagonally across the frame: a steep, crumbling face of pale sand with fine wind-carved ridges and slump lines, topped by a ragged crest of marram grass whose bare, tangled roots hang out of the sand edge. Beyond the foot of the scarp, a flat strip of wet sand and a thin dark band of sea at the horizon. Heavy, layered grey cloud fills the upper third. Soft diffuse overcast light, no hard shadows, natural muted colours of straw, sand and slate grey. 35mm lens, f/8, deep focus, believable exposure, subtle sensor grain. Tense, quiet, observational mood. No people, no animals, no footprints, no buildings, no text, no logos.
