Checking the Guard
A squat worker pulls the handle of a tall, closed machine guard, whose oversized latch stays firmly engaged.
Small 427×640, Medium 800×1200
Finished hand-drawn editorial illustration, 2:3 portrait. In one uncluttered factory corner, a very broad, squat worker at lower left leans backward slightly, testing the handle of a tall closed machine-guard door on the right. One simple mitten-shaped hand grips the handle; the other arm rests at their side. The oversized mechanical latch remains visibly engaged, and the door stays shut. Minimal face, wide work trousers, short sturdy boots. The guard has a pale translucent panel within a mint frame, with only one muted machine silhouette behind it. Loose marker contours and flat pastel rainbow fills, with sparse engraving-inspired stipple dots along shadow edges; no intricate hatching. Cool lavender shadows, peach highlights, pale blue ground and butter-yellow clothing. Slight three-quarter view, bold thumbnail-readable silhouettes, generous empty space above the worker. No diagrams, text, logos or watermarks.
