Before the Page Turns
An evening view through a residential window shows a child under a duvet and an adult turning a picture-book page, edged by warm bedside light.
Small 640×427, Medium 1200×800
Documentary editorial photograph, 3:2 landscape. From the pavement at blue hour, look obliquely through an open ground-floor bedroom window during a bedtime story. The window occupies the right two-thirds; a plain, cool-grey exterior wall gives breathing room on the left. Inside, a child lies under a faded blue duvet, only a small profile and tousled hair visible. A seated adult is mostly hidden by the window jamb, holding an open picture book just above the duvet. Catch one page halfway through its turn: a warm bedside lamp behind it creates a luminous rim along the paper and the child's hair. Book pages show only simple wordless animal illustrations. Natural, absorbed postures, nobody looking at the camera. Ordinary painted sill, slightly rumpled bedding, uncluttered room. Eye-level 50mm viewpoint, realistic exposure, warm interior against cool dusk, enough depth of field to retain the window edges. Quiet anticipation, not melodrama. No artificial grain, HDR, text, logos or watermarks.
