An Unexpected Perch
A small bird perches on a seated photographer’s camera beneath an oversized trail-shelter roof, outlined by warm rim light.
Small 427×640, Medium 800×1200
Finished hand-drawn marker editorial illustration, 2:3 portrait. One open-sided timber trail shelter, its enormous asymmetric roof slanting across the upper frame. Beneath it, at lower left, a photographer with a broad pear-shaped mustard jacket, short narrow legs and a tiny head sits sideways on a plain bench. A chunky camera rests on their lap, steadied by one simple mitten-shaped hand. A small rust-red wild bird has just landed on the projecting lens; the photographer tilts their head toward it in quiet surprise. Keep this encounter the clear focal point. Warm low sunlight from the shelter opening makes a pale golden rim around the figure and bird. Loose dark-teal marker contours, broad flat colour fills, visible stroke edges, cream background, sparse sage woodland shapes and one curved trail. Generous breathing room on the right. Minimal face, no intricate hatching or extra people. No text, logos or watermarks.
