A Ripple Through Light
An oblique studio photograph of shallow water in a black tray, with a narrow reflected beam distorted by a small ripple.
Small 512×640, Medium 960×1200
Studio object portrait photograph, vertical 4:5. Close oblique view across a shallow matte-black rectangular tray filled with clear water, on a cool grey seamless sweep. Water occupies most of the frame; only the thin near rim and one corner reveal the tray. An off-camera mirror redirects a narrow beam of daylight onto the surface, producing a bright diagonal reflection. Capture one small circular ripple interrupting that reflection into irregular silver ribbons, with the remaining water dark and still. Keep the reflected beam below clipping, with realistic falloff and subtle meniscus detail. Spare, detached editorial composition, empty grey space at the top, no decorative props. Use a 70mm lens and enough depth of field to resolve the ripple and tray edge; natural neutral colour, no artificial blur, HDR or added grain. No people, no text, no logos or watermarks.
