A Forest Kept
A small spruce rises from an intact moss-covered soil block in an unmarked specimen tray, photographed against a quiet studio background.
Small 640×360, Medium 1200×675
Hyperrealistic artifact-catalog photograph with high-concept editorial restraint, landscape 16:9. A single freshly lifted, roughly rectangular boreal forest-floor monolith, about 25 cm wide, rests in a shallow unmarked dark steel specimen tray. Its intact surface carries dense moss, a sparse scattering of fallen spruce needles and one small living spruce seedling; exposed sides reveal dark peat and fine roots. Three-quarter view at specimen height, 70mm lens, sufficient depth of field to describe the whole specimen. Place it right of centre on a matte grey conservation worktop, with generous empty space left and a softly receding grey background. Large soft light from upper left; a black flag on the right creates controlled negative fill and reveals the soil layers. Muted natural greens, brown peat, restrained highlights, convincing irregular organic textures. A real collected fragment, not a miniature landscape or diorama. No people, text, logos or watermarks.
